Bubble Tea Literary is an independent literary magazine that aims to spread awareness and knowledge through writing and art. The name of the magazine was created through a love for bubble tea (from Taiwan!) coupled with a passion for writing and all things related to the arts. So, we encourage all bubble tea lovers, writers, and artists to submit to our opportunities and to spread their own knowledge, culture, ideas, and voices with everyone. Share with us something we may not have known or understood before!
We offer submission opportunities in magazine issues and contests (among other things), and they are all completely free to submit to. (We also give out prizes sometimes.)
Submissions are also open to ANYONE regardless of age, gender, location, experience level, etc.
We primarily look for writing, art, photography, and comics, but if you have something interesting and unique to send in, send it in! We will ALWAYS be happy to take a look.
However, we will not tolerate anything that expresses hatred in any way. This includes expressing hatred or violence towards a particular gender, race, ethnicity, ability, sexual identity, socioeconomic class, or other status. We also do not tolerate extreme violence or graphic imagery.
"During the summer of 2025, I participated in an international creative writing workshop online where we were told to introduce ourselves by typing into the chat on Zoom what country we were calling in from. At the time, I was in Taiwan for the summer, so I simply typed, "Taiwan!" However, when the results of all the countries were shown to us on an online global map, I did not see a pin anywhere for Taiwan. I merely saw one pin on Thailand. The writing instructors had mixed up Taiwan with Thailand and had thought I had simply made a typo. This served as an exigence for me to start Bubble Tea Literary." --- Chloe (EIC)
At Bubble Tea Literary, we believe that writing and creating art can help spread awareness on a multitude of ideas and topics.
