Hearsay
Digital Painting (GIMP)
Artist's note:
In "Hearsay," is the source of what is said in the middle, to the left, or to the right? It could be anywhere, which is the nature of hearsay. It seems grounded, but is not. Might we speculate and expand a bit? Is not perhaps all we know, all we hear—and maybe in some strange sense life itself—reality, or is it merely hearsay?
An Awkward Moment
Digital Painting (GIMP)
Artist's note:
In "An Awkward Moment," the feeling of impending embarrassment and humiliation, of being human, repeats itself as if standing on a cliff and staring at a deep ravine, then standing on a different cliff and staring at another ravine—the experience of which everything blends into the echo of a lost and awkward moment.
Windows When Nobody Is Home
Digital Painting (GIMP)
Artist's note:
In "Windows When Nobody Is Home," the question is raised as to whether how we see windows and what we see through windows is merely a reflection of our egos and our need for certainty and surety. Perhaps windows, and what is on either side of them, has an independent existence that cannot be truly seen or known. After all, when we are there to look at and through them, we make windows—and everything they encompass—into a very narrow and rectangular frame.
